Posted Date: 8/12/24 (11:20 AM)

Dear BVUSD Families,

I'm writing to share important news regarding Yulupa Elementary's principal, Amy Hale. Please see Principal Hale's message below about her decision to transition into a new position closer to home.

We are grateful for Principal Hale's leadership, dedication, and commitment to our community, and we wish her well in her next endeavor.

As we navigate another leadership transition, please know that our priority remains providing a stable and supporting environment for all students, staff, and families. The District is actively working to ensure a smooth transition, and we will keep you updated as we move forward. Principal Hale will remain with us until September, during which time we will being the interview process for her successor. If you are interested in participating as a parent on our interview panel, please email me directly at lexie.cala@bvusd.org.

Rest assured, our teachers, support staff, and classrooms are ready for students! We look forward to the Meet the Teacher event on Tuesday and our first day of school on Wednesday.

Please join me in wishing Principal Hale all the best, and don't hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued support and understanding,

In Community,

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL HALE

Dear Yulupa Community,

I hope this message finds you well and looking forward to the start of the year. I write today with a heavy heart to share some personal news. After much reflection, I have decided to step down from my role as principal of Yulupa to take an administrative position in the Petaluma City Schools District, starting in September. This decision was not made lightly. It was mostly driven by my desire to work closer to my home in Petaluma.

I am sincerely grateful for your ongoing support and partnership throughout my time in Bennett Valley. It has been an honor to work at Yulupa Elementary, and I will miss the entire community.

I’m extremely proud of the progress we have made in the last two years. I am also grateful to each and every one of you for your support and encouragement during my time here. I have learned very much from every student, their parents, and the entire staff at Yulupa. I am also sincerely thankful to the Bennett Valley School Board, Superintendent Lexie Cala, and the staff at the district office.

In the coming weeks, we will be working to hire a strong candidate to ensure a smooth transition.

I will cherish the memories we have shared at Yulupa Elementary. Thank you once again for your trust and support. It has truly been a privilege to serve as your principal.

Warm regards,
