New TK & K families are required to provide verification of an Oral Health Exam prior to school entry.

What’s Required? California Education Code §49452.8 requires a dental check-up for all children prior to public school entry. Assessments must be completed by a licensed dentist within 12 months of school entry (no later than May 31) |

NEW FAMILIES ENROLLING IN TK & K ARE REQUIRED TO REVIEW IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DIABETES
Pursuant to California Education Code Section 49452.6, Type 1 Diabetes informational materials are to be provided to the parent or guardian at the time of enrollment. The information is intended to raise awareness about type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that can be fatal if left untreated.

PLEASE ENSURE THIS FORM IS ON FILE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE – if your child requires medication at school.
California Education Code 49423 Requires this form with signatures from the parent/guardian and physician (or other authorized healthcare provider) for all students needing prescribed – or – over-the-counter medication during school hours, school activities, or field trips.

California Education Code requires certain immunizations and health exams prior to school entry.
The bulk of these requirements apply to new TK & K students, but some health documents (like immunization records & medication authorizations) apply to new students in all grades.
Submit your Pre-Registration, and then submit outstanding medical information as soon as possible.
While we appreciate all medical forms as soon as possible, please do not delay in submitting your online Pre-Registration due to incomplete medical information.

DIABETES INFORMATION
California Education Code requires schools to provide important information about Diabetes to families upon initial enrollment. New TK & K families should review the material, but nothing needs to be submitted.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL AUTHORIZATION
Learn more about the annually required form for any student requiring medication at school. Form must be completed by a physician.

EXTENDED CARE & ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
Explore before and after school options for students. We have great programs on both school sites.
We’ve also included a public listing of other care options in the community and information about the 4Cs Preschool for younger siblings, or early learners who may not be quite ready to enter a full day of Transitional Kindergarten.

THE YMCA AT BVUSD
The YMCA operates an extended care program from 7AM to 6PM on both campuses for students in grades TK-6. Space is limited, so make note of Open Enrollment on July 1. Low and No-Cost Tuition may be available for qualifying families.

EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM (ELOP)
We offer a variety of enrichment programs and lessons outside of our school day. Qualifying students can participate at no cost.

THE 4Cs PRESCHOOL
To promote school readiness for younger siblings (or for our young learners who aren’t quite ready for a full day of TK), we host the 4Cs full-day preschool program on our third campus at Bennett View Drive. Low and No-Cost Tuition is available.
