Middle School Planning Process
WHAT IT TAKES
We could build something special to serve our community for many years.
To do it well, requires thoughtful planning & responsible pacing. |
||
Building a middle school is creating a whole new program; it’s more than adding two grades.
We’re taking time to ensure sustainability & protect what’s best for students, staff, and families.
CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS
While early conversations suggested a possible launch as early as 2026-27, several critical factors have emerged that make that timeframe unrealistic.
This is not a decision to discontinue the conversation. Rather, responsible planning requires ongoing adjustments in response to new information and shifting targets. |
||
This is a Giant Project for a Small District
As we gain a better sense of the magnitude of this undertaking, it becomes clearer that this is a significant project for a small district with limited resources.
Every decision must be made thoughtfully to ensure we protect and strengthen the programs and services already in place for current students and staff.
The Process is Exploratory & Evolving
Community input was an essential first step. Now, data, finances, and sustainability must guide next steps.
Everything shared on this site is exploratory and evolving; timelines, details, and cost estimates will continue to shift as we learn more.
AT-A-GLANCE
These are the primary components with cost estimates per class. |
